2016 wedding moments from the year

2016 has been one of my happiest years. I’ve had outdoorsy festival weddings, barn weddings, London pub weddings, riverside weddings, fancy London venue weddings and I’ve loved them all. I’ve had engagement shoots canal side, in forests, Brick Lane graffiti, London parks, in bluebells, and an Art Deco cinema. I’ve enjoyed exploring London and the uk and had some fabulous overseas trips.I love that this is my job. I really connected with so many of you and made some proper friends along the way.  I love the variety but it’s the PEOPLE, it’s YOU and how you interact and have fun that is key! I’ve loved hearing from past couples and cherish things I’m told … like how special and amazed you felt, seeing your photos and reliving your day. I strive to make each new couple feel exactly like that. So here’s my 2016 round up, a mammoth task but I’ve loved reliving your days and  have included something from every wedding I’ve photographed this year and included your words. Take a look and a read. Hours on my feet,  brain constantly busy, late drives home, sitting on the train with all my gear are all forgotten when I look at these photos and read the words you sent me. They blow me away. It’s YOU who I want to make happy. In doing that I find happiness myself.

We live in the States but decided to accommodate our International group of friends and family by hosting our three day wedding event in London. We are so glad we stumbled upon Sharon. Her talent for catching the diversity and essence of not only our bridal gang but also the special and uniqueness of the venues was fantastic.We weren’t so interested in traditional portraiture but more wanted to capture the feel and vibe of the unique spaces: Claridges, St Martin’s in the Fields, The Royal Automobile Club and Masala Grill. Sharon left no stone unturned in capturing the joyful days and events. I would without hesitation recommend her for anyone’s special event. Her photographic eye and sweet wit is contagious.

Being camera shy and uncomfortable being watched and photographed, was one of the elements that I worried about the most. That meant we needed someone who could manage to make us feel comfortable and at ease. Like many couples, we wanted to avoid ending up with photos that felt staged, mundane or embarrassing. All the comments about Sharon’s work being natural, creative, flexible, involved and unique are all very true. Looking back over the photos is an amazing experience but it also takes someone amazing to get those results. More than just photography, it takes a creator of magic visual treasures and if you’re reading this, you’re very close.
